Gadgets for Car Lovers

If you are looking for a great gift for someone who likes cars and enjoys driving, or you are the car lover yourself and want to treat yourself for no reason - take a look at the list below and find some great gadgets for any occasion.

1. Car charger

An absolute must these days! You don't have to use it on a daily basis, but it's just a great option for keeping a phone or tablet charged while on the go.

Look for double port chargers and don't forget a cable, too!

Good idea even if you are on the budget ( average cost around £10).

2. Dash cam

Dash cams are currently one of the most popular car accessories. They provide evidence in case of the accident, can speed up claims, plus some insurance providers offer discounts for drivers who have got a dash cam fitted ( T&Cs apply).

Prices for dash cams vary, you can get a quality one for around £100-£150. When choosing a dash cam, pay attention to certain features like video recording quality (HD, Full HD), night vision, power supply, memory.

This gadget is not the cheapest, but.. better safe than sorry

3. Phone holder

Even though it is absolutely forbidden to use your phone while driving, you can still use it as a navigation system. You can choose from a vent, dash or windscreen car holder.

Even though you can buy a car phone mount for less than £10, don't buy the cheapest one as it might be flimsy and won't stay securely attached and can fall off when driving.

Look for holders dedicated to specific phone models as they work best.

4. Anti-theft gadgets

Nothing beats alarms and car trackers, but there is no harm in using additional gadgets that can help to keep away the car from thieves.

Popular anti-theft gadgets range from:

  • pouches for key fobs (blocks any electronic signal from getting in or out, so no one can copy the signal)
  • night vision dash cams (when it detects motion, starts LED light up the interior, and it sends live video straight to the mobile device connected to the system).
  • OBD protector ( protects onboard diagnostics port, that is often used by thieves to start the car).
  • steering locks
5. Cosmetics kit

It's a classic and everybody loves it!

Build a cosmetics kit that consists of exterior and interior essentials ( shampoo with wax, windscreen cleaner, alloy wheel cleaner, dashboard and plastic cleaner). Try sets of air fresheners and perfumes or wipes that come in handy on any occasion.

You can mix & match different products and adjust the content to your budget and preferences.
